Our Shed It’s taken awhile, in fact it’s taken longer than we all thought it would! We have been caught several times in “red-tape” with the last 3 locations that we had for our shed. But a concerted effort with VBRRA has seen what we hope will be the purchase of our new home! You may have all heard that we were “given” $315,000 for the purchase of a building. Not quite correct, but close. It is correct that VBRRA have allocated these funds for the express purpose of purchasing a building for the Kinglake Ranges Mens Shed, but we were not given these funds. This building is now in the process of being purchased and ownership will be held by the Kinglake Trust Reserve. The building will then be leased to the Kinglake Ranges Mens Shed for the foreseeable future. The Committee have gone through the relevant legal papers (which are now with our solicitor) and all going to plan we will take over in June 2010. We’ll let you know further details soon. VMSA Meeting in Kinglake The Victorian Mens Shed Association will be holding their next meeting in Kinglake. The meeting is open to all members of Sheds, and as the Kinglake Ranges Mens Shed is a member of the VMSA, this means you. As the meeting will be held a month before we get our shed, it will be held at the Kinglake Village Community Dining/Hall. Please put Friday 21st May into your diaries. We will need members to assist in parking, hall setup etc Further details will follow shortly. Towing the Toy Library Trailer You would have received an email from me a few days ago in regards to this, instead of repeating it here, please go to our website and if you can help it would be greatly appreciated. Our Website Check it out! It’s had a little facelift but will be the main portal to inform every member what is going on. So check it out as often as you can. There is a members only section and to access this you need to register your details online. Under the Login Form box on the left you will see “Create an account” Click this and follow the instructions. Members have access to other parts of the site. Create your account now. Annual General Meeting We are getting close to our 1st Annual General Meeting. All going according to plan we hope to have our AGM in our Shed! Details will follow as we get closer to the date. Stay Safe. Cris RuhrShed Coordinator |
