KRMS Chainsaw Course

Certificate Course in:  Maintaining Your Chainsaw, and Trim & Cross Cut Harvested Trees.

The Kinglake Ranges Mens Shed is excited to offer a Certificate Course in Maintaining Your Chainsaw, and Trim & Cross Cut Harvested Trees.

There are only 24 places (12 for the blokes and 12 for the ladies) available for this Certificate Course.  First in First Served.  You MUST Register for this course by completing the Registration Form CLICK HERE or by calling into the Mens Shed and completing a registration form.

  • 2 Days (Weekend)         

Description

This course is derived from National Industry Competency Standards for the Harvesting Sector of the Forest Industries Training Package.  It is designed to increase participants’ skills in operating chainsaws safely and efficiently in a variety of common work situations. 
It does not cover tree falling.

Successful completion enables participants to meet one of the requirements for obtaining a Timber Harvesting Operator’s Licence in this category of work.

Note:  The emphasis of this course can be varied to cover a wide variety of work situations e.g. log yard operations, log dump operations, fence post and firewood cutting etc.
